Perfect Balance
by Qaraandin
Nature’s normal state is a state of balance. We are part of nature. Our
normal state is a state of balance. When we are in balance - spiritually,
mentally, emotionally, and physically - we are healthy. When we are out of
balance, our bodies act to get us back into our normal state.
Some of us, however, will not let our bodies do what they need to do to help
us get back into balance. We mistake our bodies’ healing processes for dis-eases.
We then act to get rid of the symptoms instead of finding out where we went
out of balance.
We may get rid of a set of symptoms but we are still out of balance. Our
bodies must then work harder to get us back to normal.
How many times have you felt ill and did not want to eat? What did the people
around you usually say? “I know you don’t feel like it, but you should
force yourself to eat. You have to keep up your strength.”
The body takes away our desire to eat when it needs to use the energy that
would be spent on digestion for healing. When we eat anyway, the body has to
try to digest food it doesn’t want or need as well as work on healing
itself.
The body uses coughs as a way to bring waste up and out. When we use cough
drops or other cough suppressants, we keep the body from getting rid of the
waste. We are no longer coughing but the waste is still in the body.
When we have a fever, the body is trying to burn up waste we would not let it
cough out or pour out with a cold. When we bring the fever down before the
body has finished burning up the waste, the fever is gone but the waste is
still in the body. The body now has to try some other way to re-gain balance.
The body may put all the waste together in one place. We find the lump and
rush to have the tumor removed. We got rid of the waste but we did not stop
doing what caused the waste to build up in the body in the first place. After
a while, we have more tumors.
The body keeps trying to re-gain it’s normal state of balance. It keeps
trying to help us maintain our best health. Because we no longer understand,
we stop the body from doing what it knows is best to do.
Our ancestors said that all physical ailments have spiritual, mental, or
emotional causes. If we do not get rid of the causes of our ailments, we will
keep re-creating them.
There are no “accidents.” We know the causes of our ailments. We slam a
door on our hand when we don’t like our work. We break a leg when we don’t
like where we are going.
To maintain our temples we must be honest with ourselves. What spiritual
imbalance caused your most recent physical ailment?
“The healing power of a person lies within the
person, not within the doctor, a pill, or a knife. The healing power of a
community lies within the community, not within a ballot box, an executive
order, or a referendum.”
