Beginning in August 2008, we are introducing a new service linking our clinic operations and internet storefront. We realise that people have health problems that are unique to them. We will provide custom-made formulations for people in health crises who do not have access to traditional herbal practitioners. Included in this service is a custom-designed traditional diet because we also realise that the Afrikan diet is essential to our good health and recuperation when we are ill. Payment for our services is by direct invoicing through Paypal. The cost of our formulations is dependent upon the type of medical problems, quantity and availability of required herbs, number of formulations and duration of treatment. This is to announce the reopening of Blackherbals.com's storefront
in December 2007. This time from "the roots" at the source of the
River Nile in Uganda, East Africa. We closed our storefront section of Blackherbals two and one half years ago to give us time for
the research and
development of natural and herbal products that are compatible with our
physiological makeup. Since then, we established a new company,
Blackherbals at
the Source of the Nile, UG Ltd. (BHSN) to produce our herbal products and
formulations and
Traditional Herbal
Research Centre (ATHRC) to conduct clinical research on herbal plants for use in
our herbal formulations that positively impact the health of Afrikan people
everywhere. We are proud
and happy to say we have made some significant achievements and contributions.
Our new product line at BHSN will reflect many Afrikan traditional plant
materials whose uses are documented throughout the Afrikan continent, but have
never been actively promoted. So we think our job is to change all that as time
goes by. They will be featured and added frequently as we continued to stabilize
our supply sources.
We tested many of the local herbs in the treatment of approximately 15 symptoms at our
research centre and are very encourage with the results. Our BHSN
formulas contain mostly wild-crafted herbs gathered and collected from historical and
traditional sites throughout Uganda. The herbs that we cultivated are organic, free
of all pesticides, herbicide, other chemical inputs and produced using
traditional agricultural methods. We like to believe the
"UG" in Uganda really stands for "Under God." Our BHSN tea mixes are the same dried
herbs used in the herbal extracts dispensed at our clinic. We are getting good
testimonials from patients on the benefits they are experiencing with
Blackherbals'
formulations.
Our mission here is threefold: to promote Afrikan Traditional Medicine, the
Afrikan Diet, Afrikan
Spirituality, and other Afrikan Indigenous Knowledge systems; to get Afrikans at home and abroad to be
proud of who they are and who they were; and lastly to promote the use of Afrikan traditional/indigenous herbal medicine and
its corresponding foods, fruits and grains as the entity for
counteracting the toxic effects of western living and lifestyles. We will
open markets for Afrikan products because this is the best there is and Afrikans
on the Continent and in the Diaspora need the kinds of food, nutritional components, and herbs
that are available here.
Presently, we obtain our herbal materials from WALUSSI MOUNTAIN, a spiritually-cultural site in central Uganda, and from the Rwenzori Mountains region, better known as the Mountains of the Moon in western Uganda. We are working with traditional herbalists, birth attendants and bonesetters from the Kasese/Rwenzori area (KADDENTHCA), enabling us to learn from them as they are learning from us. Further to use the old adage, East meets West, we are coming together to produce better herbal medicine that is beneficial to us all. These groups will be prominently featured.
At the Afrikan Traditional Herbal Research Clinic, we have started our training program, beginning with the herbalists of Kaddenethca, to update the medicinal skills of traditional herbalists in Uganda and to help them upgrade themselves. Lack of information, knowledge and modern implements, such as computers and medical equipment etc., have prevented African traditional herbalists from taking their rightful place among other indigenous knowledge systems who have been able to commercialize on their indigenous knowledge. At Blackherbals, we usually do not request donations. But to help manage this program, which is so desperately needed, we are requesting donations from interested people of colour since this is in line with Blacks helping Blacks. If you cannot manage a donation, then we ask that you support us by buying our products. Not only does this benefit the traditional herbalist but the traditional farmer as well, and it helps to provide a level of income to some of the poorest people in the world. We plan to feature them and other aspects of our Afrikan culture on our new site. The focus of our new website is on preventative health care and spiritual healing for Afrikans using traditional indigenous knowledge systems. This topic will certainly be of interest to you.
